Treatment for Candida

Majority of Candida infections can be treated with the help of a over the counter or prescription medication. It include antifungal drugs topical administration like clotrimazole, miconazole or oral administration of drugs like  fluconazole and amphotericin B. Lots of women prefer a single, oral dose of fluconazole instead of topical creams. If your infection is quite serious, you may require IV medications that you can get from the hospital.

Although antifungal drugs are quite effective in the treatment of Candida but there is always a chance of infection recurrence because of reinfection by a sexual partner. Due to this reason, treatment of both partners is recommended.
